What do you like most about Arthur D. Little?
When I applied for a job at Arthur D. Little, I was positively surprised by the people I met during the interviews. Compared to other consultancies, I really sensed a different culture, a culture of openness, humanity and reliability. Today, I can definitely confirm that those first impressions have not been misleading. On the contrary, I strongly feel that our culture is a differentiating asset in our day to day work.
Next to culture, ADL brings a daily portion of complex business problems and challenging client questions to be solved. Being able to contribute to such assignments, by adding value and by determining the future of our clients, is a very rewarding experience.
What do you consider your most pleasant or challenging project at Arthur D. Little?
One of the most interesting projects in which I have been involved was the set-up of a sales and pricing excellence program of a large multinational concrete manufacturer. As part of an international team, my responsibility was to develop a tailor-made pricing model to guide the pricing of concrete products. What made the case particularly interesting was our direct involvement at management team level and at operational level. In the end, the results coming out of the tool were used in the day-to-day negotiations with our client's clients and to support pricing decisions of the management team.
What is your greatest ambition?
One of my main ambitions is to put the famous "carpe diem" saying into practice on a daily basis.
Which (historical) event would you have liked to be present at? Why?
I must say that I am a passionate sailor, attracted by the power of the elements and the beauty of nature. Therefore, the start of the Volvo Ocean Race in Vigo (Spain) is definitely one of those demanding global sailing events where I would have liked to be present at. Just as in our business, the contest requires a high level of professionalism, preparation and above it all, teamwork, to make participation successful.
