What do you like most about Arthur D. Little?
The people constitute the magic ingredient of Arthur D. Little’s success, embodying the company culture of creativity, collaborative spirit, and entrepreneurship. As a result, our employees get high levels of responsibility early on and continuously throughout their career. This is the basis for our clients’ confidence and trust in considering us as their problem solvers for business issues that range from pure strategy questions through to hands-on implementation challenges.
What do you consider your most pleasant or challenging project at Arthur D. Little?
Transferring to China to head Arthur D. Little’s Shanghai office for three years. During this period, I have sold and delivered projects both for Chinese firms wanting to further professionalize their operation, as well as for foreign multinationals striving to enhance their success in the Asian emerging markets. Leading our Shanghai operation within the high-growth economic environment was a true rewarding experience, both professionally and personally.
What is your greatest ambition?
Find the healthy balance between my family and professional life – a daily challenge and by now I realize that it might be an eternal learning curve.
Which (historical) event would you have liked to be present at? Why?
I would have wanted to see the Berlin wall fall down with my own eyes to feel the symbolic power and envision the global political and economic implications.
